Movies
l like to watch Romantic and light-hearted movies. They make me feel relaxed while l'm watching them. Sometimes l watch action movies too, but l never watch horror films, which may give me nightmares.
Some of my favourite movies are: To Sir With Love, starring Sydney Poitier, and Christian Roberts, also with a lovely song sung by Lulu. The Sound Of Music, which is a musical film. Grease another kind of musical film with Rock and Roll music. Oh! and James Bond, an action movie.

SYDNEY
Sydney is the State Capital of N.S.W. It's situated on Australia's south east coast. The population is around 4.28 million.
The climate is warm and hot in summer, and cool in winter. It has no snow and the city is not affected by cyclones. So it's a good place to live in.
There are many attractive places inside the city, such as Sydney Harbour, Harbour Bridge, Sydney Tower, Sydney Opera House, Darling Harbour, China Town and Luna Park, etc. If you drive a bit further away, it has Blue Mountain, Royal National Park, Hunter Valley, and Paramatta, etc.
If you are interested in nightspots, you can visit King Cross, Oxford street, The Rocks, Star City Casino, etc. There are many bars, resturants, nightclubs, pubs and cafes.
Also there are many fantastic beaches, such as Manly, Bondi Beach, Cooge Beach, Marouba Beach, Cronulla etc. They are good places for swimming, surfing, fishing, relaxing on the sand or what ever you like.
Shopping in Sydney is also an easy thing to do with. Famous places such as Queen Victory Building, Chatswood, Bondi Junction, etc.
Every year. there are a lot of great festivals and celebrations, eg. the New Year's Eve celebration. It's the world's 1 st earliest celebration. Australia Day is a great event. The Gay and lesbian Mardi Gras along Oxford Street, attracts many visiters from all over the world. Sydney Easter Show is a great show for young and old people.
So no matter what age you are or what you like, there must be something for you. You will enjoy the peace or the excitting event here. This is a relaxed place for tourists to stay.

Sculpture by the Sea 2008
This sculpture is called "Humpback Gunship." It was made by Benjamin Gilbert. It was made of stainless steel. The colour is silver, it looks like a whale but it also looks like a helicopter or an army gunship.
It makes me feel that the artist is very clever and magnificent. In this sculpture we can see different meanings by its outlook. If we treat it as a whale, it means peace, people will enjoy staying and being close to it. But on the other hand, it also looks like a gunship or an army helicopter. It stands for war, if people use it in the wrong way. It reminds me that peace and war are just the opposite, but the limit is very narrow, it depends on how we use it.
This sculpture is figurative and attracts many children to get inside and play with it. So I think the artist is very intelligent and is a good psychologist, because he gets deep inside the surface and makes us think of different meanings to his piece.

The first day I arrived in Australia
The first day I arrived in Australia with my family, I was very happy and excited. It was a new place for me because every thing was new and strange.
I met my parents in Sydney. They took me to China Town yum cha. In the afternoon we went to the beach at Brighton Le Sands because they live in this suburb. I felt it was very fantastic for them to walk along the beach. After that we went to the shopping center where the Medicare center was located. I applied for the Medicare card which was very important for our health.
When I went back to my parents' home, I talked about a lot of things. I talked about the house, the weather, and the customs in Sydney. One thing I was anxious about was my children's studying. They were 15 and 17. It was very important for me to choose a good school for them to study at.
I was happy about the new life here because the weather here is good and the houses are big.
An eventful day
Last year in November, I went back to Hong Kong. My mother-in-law was ill and stayed in hospital. She died after my family and I arrived.
One day when I was going home by bus, I received a phone call from my sister-in-law. While I was talking with her, I needed to get off from the bus. So I used one hand to carry the bag and the other hand was still holding the mobile phone. After a while, I felt something wrong because the bag I was carrying is only a shopping bag, it wasn't my handbag. I left it on the bus.
Inside, it was my identity card, visa card, some documents and money.
Then I was very anxious. I had no money with me, so I asked the owner of a shop to lend me $20 dollars to get a taxi to the ending bus-stop. When I arrived, I told the officer what had happened to me. I found 2 buses but my handbag was not there. And then the officer told me, there was another one that had just arrived. I got on it and found my handbag. Oh, it was a big surprise that I really found it. I was very happy and thought it might be a blessing from my mother-in-law. It was unbelivable that after such a long distance, I still could find it.
Can you belive my luck.
