The first day I arrived in Australia

The first day I arrived in Australia with my family, I was very happy and excited. It was a new place for me because every thing was new and strange.

I met my parents in Sydney. They took me to China Town yum cha. In the afternoon we went to the beach at Brighton Le Sands because they live in this suburb. I felt it was very fantastic for them to walk along the beach. After that we went to the shopping center where the Medicare center was located. I applied for the Medicare card which was very important for our health.

When I went back to my parents' home, I talked about a lot of things. I talked about the house, the weather, and the customs in Sydney. One thing I was anxious about was my children's studying. They were 15 and 17. It was very important for me to choose a good school for them to study at.

I was happy about the new life here because the weather here is good and the houses are big.

An eventful day

Last year in November, I went back to Hong Kong. My mother-in-law was ill and stayed in hospital. She died after my family and I arrived.

One day when I was going home by bus, I received a phone call from my sister-in-law. While I was talking with her, I needed to get off from the bus. So I used one hand to carry the bag and the other hand was still holding the mobile phone. After a while, I felt something wrong because the bag I was carrying is only a shopping bag, it wasn't my handbag. I left it on the bus.

Inside, it was my identity card, visa card, some documents and money.

Then I was very anxious. I had no money with me, so I asked the owner of a shop to lend me $20 dollars to get a taxi to the ending bus-stop. When I arrived, I told the officer what had happened to me. I found 2 buses but my handbag was not there. And then the officer told me, there was another one that had just arrived. I got on it and found my handbag. Oh, it was a big surprise that I really found it. I was very happy and thought it might be a blessing from my mother-in-law. It was unbelivable that after such a long distance, I still could find it.

Can you belive my luck.

Write an article about Andrew

Andrew is a kind and good man, who adopted two children in Thailand named Nut and Num. He brought them back to Thailand after the adoption, so they wouldn't forget their homeland. In his own opinion, he thinks that Sydney is better than Bangkok for the kids to live in, because in Sydney there are more parks, not so much traffic and etc.

He talked about the climate in Thailand, where there is no winter, because the lowest temperature is 22*, so we may say that it's only 3 seasons. That is a cool season, the temperature is around 22*--30*, a hot season, 26*--34*, and the wet season only.

He is also concerned about the climate in Auatralia. It used to be draught, but now it has a big change, due to some people's daily actions. If people don't change their habit, in the future it may be drier and hotter. Water is also a big problem, because a lot of water was wasted. It's a global warning that we should think about it. Now in Sydney many people get hayfever from the flowers and trees, and Australia is one of the driest places in the world.

Something that is important in my country

The Big Buddha is a large bronze statue located on Lantan Island, Hong Komg. It's known as the world's tallest outdoor state.

The Buddha is 34 meters tall, weights 250 tones. It was formed out of 202 separate pieces of bronze, inside the statue there is a strong steel framework to support the heavy load and wind presure.

The Buddha does not only attractes Buddhists to pray for. If you are not religious on Buddhism, you will also be attracted by it. One of the main attractions is that, after you have climbed 268 steps and circled the platform ( looks like lotus ) where the Buddha sits, you will be attracted by its' fantastic scenery, you will also feel very peaceful and relaxed.

Today the Big Buddha becomes one of the popular tourists destination in Hong Kong, no matter whether you believe in Buddhism or not.
